Description
Legacy Administration Officer, joining a well-known National Charity, offering remote working. Open to UK Locations.

  • You will be required to travel to London 1 x per month for a team meeting. Travel costs for these visits and accommodation costs will be covered, if required.
  • Depending on location salary; London (£30,500 £33,500). National (£27,000 £30,000)


It an exciting time to join the Legacy Administration Team as they deliver a new Legacy Strategy, which includes building better relationships with solicitors and personal executors.


As the Legacy Officer, working as part of the Legacy Administration Team, you play a pivotal role and be responsible for a dedicated caseload across the UK that includes specific, residuary and reversionary legacies'.


You will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload including specific, residuary and reversionary legacies.
  • Ensure the charity receives its full entitlement in accordance with the law and the provisions of the Will/Codicil(s), any Deed of Variation or settlement agreement.
  • Record and update all relevant information regarding a legacy on the Legacy Administration database, FirstClass
  • Ensure open legacy case files are reviewed and appropriate action taken to move cases through to conclusion.
  • Ensure legacies are allocated in restricted and unrestricted funds, in accordance with the Will.
  • Ensure strict observance of the Law Society's Guidelines on Non-Contentious costs.
We are looking for you to have skills and experiences in areas such as:

  • Proven experience in the relevant fields of law such as probate law, or as a charity legacy administrator
  • Experience of using a legacy database such as FirstClass 4 would be highly desirable.
  • Highly numerate and good literacy
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain solid working relationships internally, but also with supporters, personal executors, solicitors and other charity beneficiaries.
