We are looking for engaging, motivated and energetic shift leader to join our team. The job will be exciting yet challenging at times.

Supervisory experienced is required with barista training along with a positive attitude and a love working in hospitality, easily connecting with our customers.

About the Cafe Shift Leader role:Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following behaviours:


Achieving Results:


  • To oversee the daytoday operations by ensuring that our product and the service we provide are always of highest standard
  • To supervise, manage and motivate the team
  • To support management team in working towards improving sales and service
  • Ensuring high levels of Food and Health & Safety are always maintained
  • Maintains a calm demeanour during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example.
  • Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues.
  • Delivers legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer.
  • Place order and manage stock levels and stock security.
  • Follows operational policies and procedures, including those for safety and security, to ensure the safety of all colleagues during each shift.
  • Maintains a clean and organised workspace so that resources and product can be located as needed.
  • Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
  • Follows health, safety and food safety guidelines for all products.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance

Experience & Qualifications:


  • Hospitality supervisor: 1 year (preferred)

Contracts are full-time, 35 hours per week, available to work flexible hours/days that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends


The post is open-ended
Salary:

£23,700 - £24,533 per annum (Grade 3)

  • Package includes 32 days holiday per year plus 8 bank holidays, as well as access to a range of staff discounts, as well as access to a range of staff discounts and development opportunities through accredited training.
    Please note this role requires you to be based on campus.

Main Duties

  • To assist and supervise the provision of both food and beverage services within designated retail outlets in line with operational standards. This will include the inhouse barista and restaurant services and food production. Ensuring the delivery of exemplary customer service and products served to the highest standards of quality and presentation. Supervising Retail Assistants preparing and serving food and beverages to customers in the cafés and restaurants.
  • To oversee the daily opening of the retail outlets and ensure that the different operational areas are correctly prepared in line with departmental standards at the beginning of the working day and shut down in accordance with departmental protocols at the end of the day.
  • Supervision of inhouse clearing and cleaning, to include the servery, food preparation areas, store room and internal and external customer
