Forest Homecare is a well-established family-run care agency that operates throughout Essex & Suffolk. We have an exciting opportunity available for a Training officer on a full-time basis.

Working from our Head Office in Sible Hedingham, the successful training Officer will have the responsibility of conducting the induction training and development of new care and support staff, as well as updating mandatory training for all care and support staff, through a person-centred approach.


Your main duties will include:


Staff induction and training

  • Deliver updated mandatory training for all existing care and support staff in compliance with regulations.
  • Attend courses as and when necessary to remain updated with regard to all elements of the training requirements and to ensure best practice in staff training and continuing staff development
  • Organise and present occasional staff group supervisions on issues of importance eg. additional training requirements, changes to policy, staff code of conduct, etc
  • Maintain electronic records and complete all paperwork associated with the above

Relationship management

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across departments.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with new care staff.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with social services, health professionals, and other agencies involved in the provision of community care, participating in joint training, etc.
  • Attend launches of new training initiatives with local authorities, and health authorities eg medication, SOVA, Dementia, End of Life, etc

Applications are welcome from Training Officers who:

  • Hold a Trainer the Trainer Qualification (PTLLS)
  • Hold a Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Previous training experience within a Health and Social Care environment (a minimum of 3 years' experience)
  • Oliver McGowen training (desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent communication in both verbal and written.
  • Excellent IT skills
  • It is highly desirable that you hold a clean driving license with at least one year of driving experience.
