Kelly Services have an immediate permanent vacancy for an experienced Senior / Lead Magnetics Designer. Working on behalf of our Global Electronics / Engineering Client, we are keen to speak with talented individuals.
The Role:
Key Responsibilities:
- Review of customer or internal specifications to determine the optimal magnetic solutions for products. This will include full product compliance with environmental requirements
- Develop magnetic components, typically for power or comms electronics (filters, chokes, transformers, etc)
- Write the magnetic sections of customer proposals and take ownership of all compliance matrix responses of magnetic aspects of the final product
- Develop magnetic solutions for products by studying customer requirements, liaising closely with internal and external customers to agree magnetic performance
- Model magnetic solutions concepts; create representative models and simulations.
- Create 2D drawings for use in quoting and production; work with the configuration management team, providing support and compliance guidance
- Support all magnetic aspects of product design reviews
- Confirm product integrity and performance by developing test plans and procedures for design assurance testing and qualification testing
- Develop high level manufacturing test plans that can be used by Test Engineers at the manufacturing sites.
- Provide magnetic design support for product failures, involving collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends in products and then reporting findings to key stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve our products and processes and actively engage in creation and management of the technology roadmap for magnetics
- Operate effectively and responsively as a team player, providing engineering information to key stakeholders, freely sharing expertise JD/cstl/oct 21/V1 2 of
- Provide supportive advice, coaching and mentoring technicians and junior engineers
- Comply with all HSE requirements related to the role and work towards a zeroharm culture
Essential Qualifications / Experience:
- A good degree or higher degree in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering or closely related discipline
- Electromagnetic design experience
- Relevant analysis, modelling, and simulation skills
- Requirements Analysis
- Clear and Concise Communicator of Technical Information
- Good 3D visualiser
- General Production Knowledge
- Must be able to qualify for UK security clearance
- Advantageous to have experience in the Aerospace and Defence industry
