As Senior Early Childhood Practitioner (SECP) you will be motivated, energetic and child-centred in your approach to supporting the work of Abernethy nursery class.


As SECP you will have a lead role in supporting the team as they deliver a high quality play and learning experience to our youngest learners.


You will work alongside the School Leadership Team to ensure our nursery offers the best experiences and outcomes for our young learners and their families.

This will include leading by example, supporting your colleagues, learning with and from others around you, supporting the play and learning in the nursery on a day-to-day basis.

Experience in a busy nursery environment is essential and a previous leadership role in nursery would be beneficial.


You will be a team-player, with excellent social skills, which are essential to fit in with our happy nursery team.

You must have SNNB/HNC/SVQ 3 in Childcare/Education or equivalent and be able to evidence additional studies e.g.

PDA or modules from a relevant degree and have a commitment to work towards a qualification to allow registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Lead Practitioner i.e BA Childhood Practice within SSSC timescales.
