E17 is a 10-bedded ward specialising in Paediatric Renal and Urology, we are part of the Nottingham Children's Hospital, the first Children's Hospital in Europe to be accredited the Pathway to Excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Centre.


We have an exciting opportunity for a team player to join our ward as a receptionist working 7.5 hours a week, on a Monday.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated receptionist to complement our existing friendly team.

Main duties of the job

You will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational and communication skills. You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality issues, be well motivated and reliable. You will be able to understand and accurately convey verbal and written information.

Your involvement in our team will help fulfil our commitment to delivering excellent quality care to our patients.

Duties include greeting patients & visitors when they arrive onto the ward, booking appointments as well as clinical note preparation and supporting the nurses with any administration tasks as required.

You will be answering calls, speaking with patients and their relatives and communicating within the team.

It will be expected that you will carry out the day to day duties which will include, answering calls, dealing with relatives and patients and staff, making up admission packs, admitting and discharging patients on/off the system in a timely manner to ensure flow.

Filing, photocopying, pharmacy, cleaning, tidying, stocking and ordering are a few of the responsibilities you will have on a day to day basis.


You will work closely with the team and will be expected to use and be competent in Careflow, Notis, DHR and any other ICT required to perform the job.

Training & Qualifications

  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Maths and English GCSE or equivalent

Experience

  • Experience of reception work.
  • Experience of entering and retrieving data from a computer.
  • Good working understanding of confidentiality
Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working in a busy, challenging and ever changing environment
  • 1 year experience of working in a health care setting.
Planning and organisational skills

  • Able to organise own workload following period of induction.

  • Experience of coordinating patient notes system.

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
