Service Care Legal are recruiting on behalf of a Local Governing Body who are seeking a Senior Employment Lawyer to join their team on a contract basis.

ROLE:
Senior Employment Lawyer


LOCATION:
Central London / hybrid


RATE:
£400 to £450 per day / £50.00 to £70.00 per hour

CONTRACT: 6 months with potential to extend until April 2024

Please note this role is hybrid (1 or 2 days in the office per week).


The Role

  • To work with external law firms to progress full caseloads of employment cases and tribunals through to completion
  • The work comprises of contentious and noncontentious work (with 70% being noncontentious work)
  • Anticipating changes in employment legislation, caselaw and best practice and advising on the impact on the department

The Person

  • To be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a minimum of 5 years' PQE within Employment Law
  • Previous working experience within a public sector or transport department would be highly advantageous for this role
  • Strong skills in negotiation, drafting, legal analysis and problem resolution
