I am currently working with a profitable B2B transport services business that received equity funding last week, having utilised only an outsourced finance team to date, and now requires its first in-house Finance Director to help to steer the business goingforward.
The business has had steady success with 4% month on month growth sitting at circa £10m t/o today with a strategy to grow the business organically via geographic expansion.
The Finance Director will be responsible for ensuring that the business continues its trajectory, staying ahead of needs, and creating a fit for purpose private equity quality finance function.
Operationally the business utilises both debt and invoice discountingand requires someone who has a deep understanding of asset financing alongside experience dealing with full time employees, contractor, and self-employed individuals.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business post-deal with potential for high-growth in a short time frame and a potential sale ahead of traditional 3-5yr hold cycles.
What you will be doing:
- Business partnering with both the CEO and wider Senior Leadership Team across all areas of finance.
- Develop the finance function, building/hiring as required, to create private equity standard reporting, monitoring, and control.
- Responsibility for management accounts, balance sheet, P&L and cash flow management including rolling forecasts.
- Ownership of the monthly management and board reporting, including to the investors.
- Supporting the full control of the business, ensuring accuracy and efficiency within all functions.
- Liaise and establish relationships with external advisers inc auditors and lawyers.
- Undertake and oversee significant professionalisation across processes, policies, procedures, and controls ensuring accurate monthly reporting and timely production of the management accounts.
About you:
- Must be qualified
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
- You MUST have relevant sector experience with asset finance.
- Experience working with a private equitybacked business ideal.
- Experience of running every element of finance, from bookkeeping to board reporting.
