Description
Alvan Blanch designs, manufactures and exports large scale machinery for processing crops all around the world.We're seeking an experienced Engineering Production Planner to plan, monitor and optimise all aspects of our factory operations.
In this role you would report directly to the Factory Manager and lead a planning sub-team which is critical to the smooth-running of our production facility.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop a reliable and executable production schedule in alignment with the Managing Director and Factory Manager, balancing constraints of resources, time and cost.
- Manage a planning subteam, responsible for raising accurate works orders on time and tracking their progress.
- Update Sales and Project Engineering on any changes to production schedules on a weekly basis.
- Interface with Stores & Procurement teams to ensure relevant stock levels are planned for. Align with Dispatch team to ensure shipping dates are met.
- Develop rigorous quality control procedures and find innovative solutions to resolve recurring issues/defects.
- Document and provide feedback from production operatives to share with the Design team, to allow them to continuously improve drawings and Bill of Materials.
- Oversee the assessment and implementation a new Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system, with line management responsibility of the Systems Developer.
- Develop Key Performance Indicators to track progress from monthtomonth.
- Show leadership in all aspects of Health & Safety, reporting all incidents or nonconformances to the H&S supervisor.
Required Skills/Expertise:
- Production planning experience
- Experience managing others, with strong leadership and teamwork capabilities.
- Good attention to detail with a passion for accurate information.
- Ability to problemsolve efficiently and resourcefully.
- Knowledge of engineering manufacturing processes.
- Experience implementing MRP/ERP systems (desirable)
- Experience with quality control processes (desirable)
Location:
This role is based permanently at our main offices and production facility near Malmesbury - SN16 9SG.
Job Types:

Salary:
£35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
