SRL works in partnership with our clients, across the UK and internationally, we identify the most cost-effective and practical ways to handle acoustics, noise, vibration and air quality issues, often on high-profile national projects.

They are currently looking for Monitoring and Laboratory apprentice to join their team.


Job Purpose:


  • To do client contract work effectively and efficiently Job requirements. Your role will require you to work both at the office in Holbrook and at client's sites around the country.

Your duties will include:


  • Travelling to the customers sites
  • Installing and removing monitoring equipment from site.
  • Preparing monitoring equipment for deployment
  • Calibrating monitoring equipment
  • Completing proposals and reporting
  • Project management
  • Communicating with the customer
  • Checking the data
  • Helping improve current systems

The role also includes:


  • Servicing and repairing equipment
  • Testing new systems and services
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Developing customer information
  • Improving efficiency of monitoring Office based duties include:
  • Telephoning customers
  • Preparing quotations and reports
  • Filing equipment and test records
  • Develop business plans for new monitoring services
  • Compile client development plans Help the company run smoothly:
  • Ensure that you and others work in a safe manner, following company method statements and risk assessments you are given / do to avoid anyone getting hurt
  • Use the Client database to record E's and C's, and any meaningful business development you do
  • Do project work within the SRL QA system
  • Use the Lotus Notes system for all companywide information management
  • Follow all company procedures and IOA's Code of Conduct & ANC's Code of Ethics
Entry requirements

GCSE grade 4 and above in Maths, English and Science.

Training to be provided

  • The learner will be studying the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship standard qualification.
  • Day release to West Suffolk College.
  • Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.
Things to consider

Involves driving to site and must be able to drive and hold valid license. Being local to Sudbury would be helpful but not essential.

The opportunity to progress to a Lab Engineer, Senior Engineer, Manager/Team Leader.

Hours per week 37.5
Working week Monday to Friday, between 9am-5pm, flexible, depending on work required
Apprenticeship standard Maintenance and operations engineering technician (Level 3)
