Introduction:


  • The Marketing Executive
  • Paid Social role offers a unique opportunity to join the Acquisition Marketing team at The Economist on a 7month fixed term contract. You will be working on one of the most advanced and exciting accounts in Social Media globally. The team's mission is to bring new site visitors, registered users and readers into our orbit at scale. As a Marketing Executive, you will assist the Marketing Manager and a Senior Marketing Executive with the coordination of campaign activities across Meta, Twitter, LinkedIn and TikTok.

Accountabilities:


  • Ensure campaigns are implemented on time, to budget and under quality controls.
  • Brief and liaise with our media and internal and external creative agencies
  • Brief and ensure the correct creative, landing pages, UTM coding, prices and offers are used
  • Monitor, analyse and optimise the weekly performance with the agency, recommending/alerting action where needed
  • Outline to the media agency weekly tasks and priorities
  • Perform regular health checks (eg. URL redirections, ad copies, internal reporting)
  • Proactively seek out new social media trends and marketing opportunities including:
  • Media selections, advertising networks, ad units, marketing and technology trends, audience segments and methodologies that can be tested and developed globally
  • Work closely with:
  • Media agency, to compile results and ensure they deliver timely campaign reports
  • Data and Insights team, to create new reports that provide indepth analysis
  • Editorial Social team, to ensure the bestperforming content is promoted
  • Social Media partners (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, etc), to ensure the activity is always firstinclass
  • Ensure campaign costs are accurately allocated in finance trackers and that the finance reports are updated each month

Experience, skills and professional attributes:


  • Experience in paid social media buying across contentled marketing campaigns and/or direct response campaigns with capabilities in:
  • campaign planning and set-up
- optimisation and reporting
- budget management (desired)

  • Have competency with biddable digital platforms: Meta Business Manager, Twitter ads platform, LinkedIn campaign manager and Tik Tok for Business.
  • Some experience with analytics, tracking and attribution technologies (GA, Google Data Studio)
  • Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite (Docs, Slides etc.), with strong attention to detail
  • Keen interest in current affairs and keeping up to date with global news
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Crosscultural sensitivity and the ability to perform effectively in an international environment
  • A strong desire to learn and develop in direct response marketing. And take a creative approach to problemsolving
  • A team player who is flexible and committed to reaching team goals and targets
  • Enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions
