This locum post offers the successful applicant the opportunity to practise Urogynaecology at MFT.

The initial job plan consists of 10 PAs. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team and develop our service. Previous experience at Consultant level is desirable but not essential. Great care has been taken to ensure that there is appropriate access to professional development opportunities.


The appointee will be required:

To support and complement the secondary and tertiary Urogynaecology services provided by MFT

To take a leading role in improving the quality of services in MFT.


To take clinical responsibility for a defined cohort of women under their care, both when outpatients and inpatients, and provide cover for women under the care of other consultant colleagues as required.

To deliver outpatient clinics as agreed on the job plan.

To deliver operative treatment in theatre lists at MFT sites, including anticipated participation in weekend operating lists


To participate in the consultant rota patterns for the daytime and out of hours working at Wythenshawe Hospital and Oxford Road Campus sites.

To provide out of hours care as described in individual job plan.

To undertake the necessary administrative work relating to the post.


To be responsible for the supervision and training of junior staff and undergraduate students in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and to actively participate in clinical teaching and training of the wider multidisciplinary team.

To take an active role in Clinical Governance, and lead and participate in audit projects relevant to clinical care.
