Do you want to help older people in your local community? In this role you will be responsible for providing a safe, friendly, and reliable door to door transport service for people to and from specialist day centres.


Purpose:

You will be responsible for safely transporting elderly and disabled service users to and from their homes to day centres in a safe and caring manner


We are looking for people with a caring and professional approach who are able to work with a diverse range of passengers with varying disabilities.


Challenges and Opportunities:


You will need to be physically fit to assist passengers on and off the vehicle including wheelchair users, be a good team worker who is able to work unsupervised; with a "can do" attitude and good interpersonal skills, treating people with dignity and respect.

To follow pre-prepared routes, ensuring timings are kept to schedule, and passengers are transported safely and efficiently.


Technical Skills:

You must be a confident and safe driver with experience in driving both manual and automatic vehicles. You must be licenced to drive minibus-type vehicles with a D1 category licence.

A driving assessment will be required, if offered the position.


The ideal person will naturally go above and beyond; acknowledging that our passengers value a friendly face and someone who is thoughtful and considerate.

English Fluency:

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post (for those whose language is a signed language the provision of a sign language interpreter who speaks English to the necessary standard of fluency will be required).
