What will you be doing?

The role of a Family Worker is an exciting, dynamic and ever evolving role aiming to offer families within Cambridgeshire with a high quality bespoke package of support.

You will be responsible for supporting families using a whole family approach, working with them on a 1-1 basis in their homes and within the community.

You will complete Early Help Assessments, act as the Lead Professional for the family, work in partnership with the multi-agency team around the family and provide tailored targeted intervention that enables parents, carers, children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.

You will lead on the organisation, planning and delivery of evidence-based group work programmes that aims to support parents/carers with topics such as: parenting, childhood development, domestic abuse and healthy relationships.


As a Family Worker you will be motivated, dedicated to the role and passionate about making a positive contribution to the lives of children, young people and their families.

You will work both autonomously and as a team member within the wider Early Help organisation.

You will have the ability to recognise and act upon your safeguarding responsibilities and offer a high quality service to our service users.

About you
Do you have a relevant level 3 qualification.

  • Experience of multi-agency and partnership working to ensure the best outcomes for children and families in Wisbech.
  • Proven experience of working directly with families, including in their own homes.
  • Knowledge of child development and its influence on parent/child relationships in every stage of a child's life.
