Verus Recruitment Partners are pleased to be supporting a Shrewsbury based leading international Aerospace manufacturer in the recruitment of an experienced Sheet Metal Worker on a full-time, permanent basis to join their MRO Team.

As my client's Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible of all aspects of direct manufacturing of any parts, this will include but is not limited to; rolling, forming, stretching & shrinking and general sheet metal work activities

About the role:

  • To be able to a repair to sheetmetal parts is to return the damaged area to its original strength where turnaround time is key
  • To preform sheet metal work activities on fabricated parts including assembly fixtures, drilling, deburring, and fitting
  • Operation of the fly press, guillotine, and other associated Sheet metal equipment
  • Use the correct tools and equipment for the operation or work,
  • To continually seek to improve existing working practices and exceed targets and standards set.

About you:

  • Minimum 3 years in a Sheet Metal Worker or similar role (ideally in Aerospace manufacturing) including sheet metal work activities on fabricated parts including assembly fixtures, drilling, deburring, and fitting.
  • To have the ability to understand and interpret Customer Specifications and Technical drawings.
What would make you stand out?

  • Experience working with exotic metals such as aluminum alloy, titanium, stainless steel, advanced composite materials, and other exotic material
  • An understanding of NADCAP requirements.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace parts, processes and materials would be advantageous to support the high levels of customer quality and delivery demands
  • Apprentice trained in a recognised engineering craft (This is a requirement for the top of the salary banding)
  • Experience with Human factors and Error Management.
