At Progress Teachers we are a leading education staffing agency dedicated to providing long-term and permanent employment.
We are working with
SEN Schools across
Nottinghamshire to support them in their recruitment for
Teaching Assistants.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated
SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team.

In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting children aged 5
-19 with a wide range of
physical and neurological challenges.

Your responsibilities will include assisting students in their daily activities, adapting to their unique needs, and providing the necessary care to ensure their well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with students who may have physical and neurological challenges.
Support students with personal care tasks, including toileting and feeding.
Assist with manual handling, including hoisting and working with children in wheelchairs.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate with teaching staff to implement individualized education plans.
Promote independence and social interaction among students.
Provide emotional support and encouragement to students.
Be flexible in your approach, supporting various needs across the school.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
Manual handling experience and knowledge of hoisting techniques preferred.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with disabilities.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to adapt to the changing needs of the students.
An understanding of SEN principles and best practices.
