Description

As the Lead UI Artist at BARB, you will be responsible for driving the visual direction and artistic quality of our game user interfaces.

Leveraging your extensive experience in UI/UX design and expertise in Unreal Editor, you will lead a team of talented UI artists to create captivating and intuitive UI experiences that enhance gameplay and immersion.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead the UI/UX design process from concept to implementation, collaborating closely with Art Directors, Designers and Engineers to ensure alignment with the overall artistic vision and gameplay goals.
  • Provide creative direction and guidance to the UI art team, inspiring excellence and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Define and maintain visual standards and style guidelines for UI elements, ensuring consistency and coherence across all aspects of the user interface.
  • Mentor and develop UI artists, providing feedback, guidance, and support to help them grow and excel in their roles.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify and address UI design challenges, iterating on designs based on feedback and usability testing.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in UI/UX design, incorporating innovative solutions and techniques into your work to push the boundaries of interactive entertainment.

Requirements:


  • Extensive experience in UI/UX design for video games, seeing at least one AAA title through full development in a leadership or lead role.
  • Extensive experience with Unreal Editor and a deep understanding of its UI/UX development tools and workflows.
  • Exceptional artistic and design skills, with a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of UI design projects and a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of inspiring and motivating teams to achieve excellence.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey ideas and feedback to crossfunctional teams.
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills, with a focus on driving solutions that enhance player experience and engagement.
  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of player psychology and playercentred design principles.
