An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to work within the primary care mental health service at HMP Forest Bank.

HMP Forest Bank is a Category B prison which houses male prisoners age 18 upwards.

The prison is operated by Sodexo Justice who work in partnership with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust to provide a high standard of mental health care to those in their custody.


The model of care used by the service is the stepped care model and the post holder will deliver low intensity, psychologically informed interventions to help support service users with mild to moderate mental health problems at step 2.

We welcome applicants who have a genuine interest in working within the Health & Justice setting in prison. The successful applicant will receive regular clinical and managerial supervision along with excellent training and development opportunities within GMMH.


The post holder is responsible for providing a qualified psychological wellbeing therapy service to adult, male service users who are in custody at HMP Forest Bank.


The post holder will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that high quality individualised care is delivered which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing.

The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures.
