Job purpose


To develop professional and comprehensive tender responses for a major cultural institutions for the installation, shipping and transportation of high value art works.

These tenders typically relate to staging major public exhibitions, gathering works fordisplay that have been loaned from collectors, museums and other institutions worldwide.


Key tasks

  • Liaising with clients and building relationships that enable a clear understanding of the requirements
  • Planning tenders submission and estimates in a timely fashion in consultation Directors and Account managers
  • Efficient use of relevant information to develop supporting documentation for submissions
  • Clearly explaining rational to key proposals and accessing alternative options
  • Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects
  • Ensuring information on inhouse computer system is up to date
  • Regular reporting of statistics to Manager/Directors
  • General close consultation with coordinators regarding the conversion of an estimate and forward planning the actual job to ensure smooth transition
  • Alerting Manager/Directors to any client dissatisfaction

Skills & personal qualities

  • Numerate and excellent attention to detail
  • Methodical and structured in approach to tasks
  • A Selfmotivated and confident team player
  • Knowledge of some or all areas of logistics
  • Road, Airfreight and Seafreight
  • Some awareness of key UK Customs procedures (but will receive training)
  • Approachable and able to make an informed decisions
  • Flexibility to travel where necessary
  • Able to multitask and meet strict deadlines
  • Experience as project manager/estimator or similar position
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
  • Foreign language knowledge would be an advantage
