What you'll be doing
As a
Senior Communications Officer, you will have the following accountabilities:
- Work closely assisting the Business Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a best practice service that ensures customer and colleague advocacy, adds value and supports the delivery of agreed KPI's.
- Enhance and protect the reputation of the Southampton HSP through the delivery of an effective communications and community engagement strategy
- Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders and have respect to act as an trusted adviser on communications matters
- Embed a 'customerled' approach and support delivery of project/regulatory KPI's
- To lead and manage the communications team
Who we're looking for
The following skills/qualities are essential:
- Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent higher education/postgraduate industry qualification in marketing, public relations or communications OR over 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Experience of working on construction/civil engineering infrastructure projects
- Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills
- Self starter with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines
- Strong community relations and stakeholder management experience
- Team player with ability to influence and negotiate
- Strong analysis and problem solving skills
- Good understanding of the media including social media
- Ability to manage, engage and develop direct reports
- Experience of delivering informative and engaging presentations to different audiences
- Continually searches for ways to add value and take performance to the next level
- Proactively builds knowledge through sharing ideas and expertise with others
- A clean driving licence and willingness to travel
- Experience with using creative software including Adobe Creative Suite, Canva etc to produce images and footage for use across the business.
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office
Desirable:
- Member of CIPR and relevant qualification
- Valid CSCS card
