Senior Manager, Media & Stakeholder Communications

LOCATION:
Roehampton, South West London (with some international travel)

We are currently working to a hybrid model requiring a mandatory minimum of 3 days working
in our office based in Roehampton, London and as part of this, Monday and Tuesdays are 'anchor
days' where all staff work from the office.

The ITF is responsible for the worldwide development of tennis through its highly regarded
Global Development Programme, its Science and Technical department which monitors
equipment and technology, and its Officiating department which oversees the education,
certification and advancement of officials.

The ITF oversees the professional pathway and organises over 1,500 weeks of men's, women's,
and junior tournaments on the ITF World Tennis Tour, the main artery for talent to rise to elite
levels of the sport and manages the ITF junior competitions. The ITF operates the ITF Beach
Tennis Tour, UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour and the ITF Masters Tour. The ITF is the owner and
rightsholder of the women's and men's World Cup of Tennis, Billie Jean King Cup and Davis Cup,
the two largest annual international team competitions in tennis, and manages the Olympic
Tennis Event at the Olympic and Paralympic Games on behalf of the IOC and IPC. The ITF upholds
the highest standards of integrity and is a partner in the International Tennis Integrity Agency.


Overview of Department:

The ITF Communications department is responsible for all internal and external communications,
plus day-to-day press and public relations. The department also provides on and off-site media
support at events including the Grand Slam tournaments and Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup
ties. The ITF promotes tennis worldwide through a combination of websites, social media and
publications, all of which are managed or overseen by the department.

**Purpose: - Effective promotion of the ITF, its events and activities through the servicing of

international media on and off site

  • Management of all eventbased media information and statistics across ITF channels to
maximise promotional opportunities

  • Provision of media materials to support all ITF announcements and campaigns*****Responsibilities: *
  • Management of ITF onsite media information service at ITF Davis Cup, Billie Jean King
Cup, junior and wheelchair world championships, Olympic and Paralympic tennis events
and agreed Grand Slams
***HR: Project Lead, Media Services Job description - April 202- Compiling engaging and digestible match notes and statistical information for ITF major

events and agreed Grand Slams.
***- Maintaining player profiles, tournament information and rankings in ITF database

  • Working with the ITF World Tennis Tour department to generate and promote weekly
escalate any stand-out stories to Manager, PR & Media Relations.

  • Identifying weekly stories and statistics from the ITF World Tennis Tour to distribute to
National Association of players concerned, encouraging them to celebrate the stories of
their local heroes in their local media.

  • Working with digital team on display of statistical information on ITF website
  • Wider support of communications team when required, including distribution of press
releases, writing fact sheets, responding to and escalating media requests where
appropriate

  • Maintaining and updating media distribution database regularly reviewing lists to
ensure ITF press materials are reaching the right people

  • Writing Presidential forewords for event publications and match notes
  • Proactive building of media relations when on site at events
  • Supporting media operations team tasks at ITF major events, including Davis Cup Finals
and Billie Jean King Cup Finals

  • Contributing to general department tasks, such as responding to requests from media,
maintaining lists of contacts, and monitoring media coverage

  • As the needs of the business can evolve rapidly this role may change accordingly, therefore this _

  • First class written and oral communication skills
  • Strong tennis knowledge and passion for covering the sport
  • Strong interest in sports data, with the ability to present statistics in a digestible and
engaging way

  • Experience of working collaborativ
