Last year, Convatec took an important step on this journey, by setting near term science-based carbon reduction targets.
To help drive progress in 2024, Convatec is launching a global sustainability internship programme across a range of sustainability disciplines, from materials scientists to mechanical engineers - to focus on specific opportunities and help prepare the workforce of the future to drive sustainability.
Sustainability internship programme
This role reports into the Process Control and Instrumentation Lead, who will provide guidance and mentorship during the placement. You will be responsible for carrying out steam usage quantification for units 1 and the Annex manufacturing
suites, confirm demand for process operations and facilities heating - identify
alternative sources.
100% paid internship - 22,000.00 GPB annual gross
Length of the internship - July until September
Hours per week - 37h/week
Your key duties and responsibilities

About you
Mandatory
- Ability to work independently and be an excellent team player working collaboratively and participating in projects.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to present and communicate clearly and concisely.
- Flexible, adaptable and capable of lateral thinking.
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills and ability to multitask.
- English language good communication level.
- Valid driving license
Nice to have
- Basic knowledge of technology, facility and manufacturing equipment.
- Engineering / energy / built environment related undergraduate or postgraduate (BSc, BEng, MSc, MEng)
- A keen interest in Environment, Social Governance with a particular focus on energy systems.
- An understanding of carbon management and the UK plans for 'net zero'
- Understanding of thermodynamics and applicability in industry.
