Our client is looking to secure an experienced Administrator to join the Public Health Team on an interim basis until at least March 2024.

As a response to the cost of living crisis, our client has produced a package of work focused on a number of different areas including warm welcome spaces, information advance and guidance and food provision.

These areas are led by officers from a wide array of disciplines. The cost of living response is now entering Phase 2 as we look ahead to another winter.

The food provision workstream has a large remit.

To date, it has supported foodbanks across the city with funds for food and other consumables and infrastructure to increase capacity through a series of grant schemes, alongside other work on surplus food, shame and stigma and addressing the needs of young people.


Duties:


  • Supporting with the administration and project management of large grant schemes for community groups
  • Monitoring of interventions in the food provision workstream, including identifying and using suitable sources of data
  • Liaising with community groups such as foodbanks, food pantries, food clubs and community cafés
  • Engaging with citizens and other stakeholders to understand the local content of and feasibility of interventions
  • Ensuring delivery of key objectives and milestones for the workstream
  • Scoping additional opportunities for interventions and work for the workstream
  • Carrying out functions such as reporting and governance
  • Supporting on the general operationalisation of the Food System strategy, specifically the Food Security and Resilience workstream

Requirements:


  • Experience of project support or administration
  • Experience of working with a wide range of partners and stakeholders to support delivery of interventions
  • Working understanding of the cost of living crisis, food insecurity and/or the impacts that these might have on citizens
  • The ability to work at pace and to deadlines
  • A very high level of attention to detail
  • Effective IT skills including experience of working with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Respect for diversity and values individual difference and treats all people fairly and appropriately regardless of race, religious belief, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, appearance or position
