Why is this role crucial for Pogust Goodhead?


We arelooking for an experienced HR Officer or HR Advisor who can run the full lifecycle of an employee lifecycle from onboarding through to exit, including running your own disciplinary processes and other ER cases.

Due to this being a new role it is one you can make your own so if you want a role where you can write policy or get involved with management information this role is the one for you.


You will take responsibility as the first port of call for all HR aspects in the organisation, including advising line managers and working closing with the Talent Acquisition functions to manage the onboarding process.


Requirements:


Role responsibilities and core competencies

Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Assist in the development and ensure the implementation of group strategy for HR management which will include disciplinary procedures, grievance, pay and conditions, contracts, training and development, succession planning, morale and motivation, culture and attitudinal development, performance reviews, and quality management issues is achieved
  • Work closely with all business areas, assisting and supporting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures
  • Coach and advise on complex employment relations issues from start to end
  • Provide best practice advice and guidance to line managers and employees
  • Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Support and advise managers in the performance management process to enable them to manage all levels of performance effectively
  • Training and development, assisting in the identification of organisation, team and individual training needs and help to develop a strategy for succession planning
  • Assist / source appropriate costeffective training
  • Support and assist in the implementation of cultural change together with the leadership team
  • Support managers in employee relations activity including performance management, probations, disciplinary and grievance cases, redundancies etc
  • Proactively manage absence through monitoring absence levels, dealing with long and shortterm sickness absence and ensuring appropriate Occupational Health referrals
  • Continually seek ways of improving procedures and workflows to maximise effectiveness of the HR department
  • Contribute to the evaluation and development of HR strategy and performance in cooperation with the HR Management
  • Assist in the development of HR initiatives and help drive their implementation across the business
  • Ensure that any issues and trends that the role uncovers are fed into HR line management

What you'll bring to Pogust Goodhead

Essential

  • Organisational and administrative skills
  • CIPD or equivalent qualification essential
  • Substantial experience working as an HR Advisor
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and current legislation and familiar with best practice on all Human Resource issues including redundancy, TUPE etc.
  • Experienced in coaching managers through these processes and leading where necessary
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility
  • Ability to advise and work with senior members of staff
  • Handson experience with IT programmes and HR systems
  • Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities across all levels of the business
  • Ability to design clear and fair company policies
  • Practical and logical; able to solve problems quickly

Desirable

  • High level of proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to communicate with an engaging, diplomatic and professional demeanor inperson, by phone and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to work on sensitive, confidential matters with discretion and professionalism
  • Effective, clear and concise oral and written skills in English
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects and meet deadlines
