Job description:


This is an opportunity for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual in a key customer facing role within the South West Region which requires an ability to deal with sensitive matters and handle the expectations of customers.

The job is high profile, exciting, varied and provides an opportunity to improve relationship leadership skills whilst working collaboratively with DIO colleagues, Industry Partners, our Customers and other Stakeholders


The FO will work collaboratively with the Industry Partners and the end users, delivering successful outcomes as part of a team enabling DIO to ensure satisfactory outcomes.

You will be expected to actively participate in delivery capability within your delegated powers; an exciting role with wide ranging requirements and plenty to engage your interest


The FO is accountable for ensuring that their team adhere to and conform with all agreed DIO TLB processes and operating procedures.

This role is involved in supporting the provision of service across the sub-area team and in working with the Supplier and other agencies to deliver five key tasks:

- providing assurance of service delivery and statutory compliance of the estate
- providing key stakeholder engagement and feedback on Supplier's delivery
- performance management to ensure that the Supplier is providing the correct level of service against agreed indicators
- issue resolution of site-based delivery issues to maintain operation outputs, agreed Statements of Need (SoNs)
- in-year programme delivery.


Person specification:


As the Facilities Officer you will support your team; working with them to assure compliance relating to policy, instructions and guidance.

Working to improve compliance, operational efficiency and the policy framework. Recording and managing risks and issues up the Governance chain regularly collaborating closely with assurance, DIO/IP teams.


Strive to build strong collaborative, professional working relationships both within your team, with other teams across DIO & the wider MOD, to provide the continued level of support needed across a diverse estate in support of Defence.

Supporting and participating in a culture of continuous improvement.

Collating information and preparing reports for of reporting and assurance activities.


Providing support to maintain all DIO Business as Usual Operational Requirements & respond assist management requests to support changing departmental priorities.

A full UK Driving licence will be required as public transport is not always available. Some overnight stays may be required.

The post advertised is for 37 hours net however the Ministry of Defence offers flexible working to enable a better work-life balance for employees.
