Job description:


Providing health and safety advice and support to the DIO's hard and soft facilities management teams, our advisors are involved in incident reporting and investigation, conducting audits and assurance exercises, attending meetings, and delivering familiarisation training, as well as providing guidance and mentorship.


Through proactive engagement, we seek to monitor and develop DIO's systems and culture to ensure compliance and positive health and safety behaviours across the organisation, our suppliers and service providers.

Person specification:


  • Proactively engaging with our customers to identify and support appropriate health and safety training, delivering input where necessary.
  • Providing professional advice and guidance to facilities management personnel across your estate.
  • Actively promoting incident reporting across all activities and projects.
  • Supporting and mentoring site teams in investigating incidents and identifying causes and recommendations.
  • Advising and monitoring site teams in taking appropriate and timely action to address adverse safety incidents.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate procedures and standards are implemented to safeguard personnel, protect assets, and ensure compliance.
  • Coaching and mentoring personnel to address poor performance and secure positive behaviours.
  • Undertaking safety tours, audits, and inspections.
  • Supporting contracts and procurement functions as appropriate, for example through the review of prequalification questions (PQQ) and tender evaluations.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • IOSH membership is desirable
  • Experience of construction, facilities or multi site working is desirable.

Licences:


  • Must hold a full driving licence and have access to their own vehicle as there is a requirement to travel to remote sites which are not easily accessible by public transport
    Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH General Health & Safety Certificate, or NEBOSH Construction Certificate, or equivalent
    Memberships:
  • Membership of IOSH is desirable
