Are you an experienced cable technincian/Fibre Splicerthat is seeking a move from the "norm" and would relish the chance to work for an alternative network that will allow you to progress up the ladder sooner?

We are recruiting experienced such a personto support our client's expansion across the North East of England.


We are looking for engineers who go that extra mile, that has exceptional customer service skills,that are keen to learn, are adaptable and genuinely excited to be part of a fast-growing organisation.


Job Purpose:

  • Carrying out risk assessments prior to work
  • Installing, splicing and securing fibre distribution points either above/underground or mounted on telegraph poles
  • Interpreting job packs and fibre allocation tables
  • Installing splice splitters in broadband cabinets using automatic fusion splicer
  • Photographing completed fibre distribution points both inside the closure and externally, showing position on the chamber or pole
  • Working safely using gate guards and signage as appropriate
  • Carrying out acceptance testing using OTDR, light source and power meter
  • Proven track record of fibre optic splicing
  • Conversant with principles and standards for Passive Optical Networks

Person Specification:
Fibre cable installation/splicing skills and experience

Current clean driving license with a willingness to travel

Good understanding of fibre terminology and the ability to communicate this effectively to customers as well as colleagues within the business

Well-presented and able to demonstrate a professional image as the face of the business

Exceptional Customer Service skill

Salaries are negotiable depending on experience and location.
