Description

About Little Darlings
Full time nursery staff are required for a small, private nursery in West London. We are passionate about the environment and nature, organic food, healthy living, good manners and kindness.

The apprentice will be expected to work between hours per week, and the wage will start at £6.50 per hour, but will be reviewed and increased based on performance every 3 months.

There may be the potential to become a full-time, qualified member of our team in the future.

About the Company
Little Darlings are a small, friendly home setting that prides itself on teaching kindness and manners. We have a home-from-home feel for the young children and babies we take care of.

We have babies from 6 months old until they are around 3 years when they tend to move on to pre-school.

We have a dog and a cat who live at the setting and a large garden with lots of herbs, vegetables and plants growing in it, so children learn about animals, nature, and healthy eating from the very beginning.

About the Opportunity
You will be working as part of a small team in our small setting, and duties will include:

  • Aiding in supervising and keeping the children safe
  • Caring for children's personal needs including nappy changing and toileting
  • Supporting independence and supervising the children at mealtimes
  • Observing children and monitoring their development following the EYFS guidelines.

About the Applicant
You will be patient and empathetic, kind and trustworthy, fun and energetic, and will have a love of learning, children and animals

You must possess:

  • Good communication skills, as you will be working as part of a team
  • Creativity and imagination and the ability to be understanding and able to give encouragement
  • Reliability and punctuality.
Ideally, you will have both Maths and English GCSEs at grade 4/C and above, but this is not essential.

About the Training

Over the course of 18 months, you will study units such as health & safety in a childcare setting, holistic child development, safeguarding in a childcare setting, child development, communication with children, purposeful play and educational programmes, supporting children with special educational needs, collaborative working in early years childcare and wellbeing principles for children (these modules may differ).

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, you will achieve a Level 3 qualification and a TQUK Diploma in Early Years.

If you do not hold GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent), these will be delivered alongside the apprenticeship programme.

  • We and our employer partners are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults, so a DBS check will be required for this role. To make you aware, this position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore all convictions, cautions and bindovers, including those regarded as 'spent' must be declared, and you will be asked about these during the recruitment process._
