We have an exciting opportunity for a Remote Monitoring Controller to join our Monitoring and Control Team in Central Operations.

The RMC provides a strong, reliable monitoring capability which will proactively monitor asset condition 24/7/365 a year, whilst ensuring appropriate control actions are taken to protect our assets, our people and our business reputation.


This role is critical in managing asset data and alarms and ensuring that any deviations and events are resolved promptly.

This will require you to proactively analyse various sources of information including telemetry data, trends, workflow information, customer contact information and other sources.

You will draw conclusions and ensure business response arrangements are in place where necessary. You will also be a key interface for teams within the field and the ICC.


Job Accountabilities:


The Remote Monitoring Controller will case manage critical Water quality & Wastewater compliance parameters in line with business & regulatory expectations.


You will also be responsible for:

  • Ensuring effective 24/7/365 management of alarms on primarily water but also wastewater.
  • Full compliance with existing H&S regulations, SOP and SLA after provided training.
  • Attention to detail, versatility and effective ownership of several simultaneous events.
  • Resilience, management of telemetry under pressure and/or occasional high work load as a result of daily demand patterns, weather phenomena or exceptional local regional events.
  • Knowledge or openness to learn and understand existing regional water systems and wastewater systems in order to efficiently assess significance, impact and required response from M&C team.
  • Working towards higher level of knowledge of existing water treatment processes across the business and its direct correspondence with existing regional systems for improved management of telemetry.
  • Proactive engagement with existing corporate tools on alarms prevention and reduction in line with business requirements and targets.
  • Primarily interpret, allocate and manage resources out of core business hours.

Knowledge and Skills:


To be considered for this role you will be able to analyse various sources of data, draw conclusions and assist with formulating response plans.

It is expected that you will be of an enthusiastic, committed personality with a strong work ethic.


You will also have:

  • Have the ability to use multiple IT systems.
  • Possess the correct behaviours in line with business expectations and able to demonstrate these on a daily basis.
  • Working or outline knowledge of UU Telemetry Systems and telemetry data reporting platforms.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Water & Waste Water process / network.
  • Good knowledge of Telemetry Systems and processes.
  • Good knowledge of tools such as click schedule.

Additional Information:


  • Ability to work on a rotation shift rota keeping high levels of focus, effectiveness and delivery on alarm and resources.
