MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POST:

  • To provide and maintain a high standard of phlebotomy care for patients
  • Be responsible for performing venepuncture to obtain blood samples

RESPONSIBLE TO :

  • Scheduled Care Nursing Manager / Partner with Clinical Responsibility
  • Executive Managers for Administrative purposes SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POST The Phlebotomist will be able to perform venepuncture to patients registered with Downend Health Group, at Christchurch Surgery and the Willow Surgery. They will be an enthusiastic, proactive and positive individual who is able to work well within the clinical team. They will have an understanding, acceptance and adherence of the need for strict confidentiality and clinical governance. They will be flexible to the service needs and be able to adapt times and location of working, increasing hours if needed, to cover for holiday and sickness.
