About Us
Barking & Dagenham College is a vibrant and highly successful College in East London with circa 7,500 students, circa 500 established staff and a turnover of £35m.
The College offers routes into learning from entry level through to MBA level, including apprenticeships, higher level apprentices, higher education and job centre plus clients.
We have technical specialist areas from level 3 and above with a broad based curriculum up to level 2.
We are immensely proud of the achievements of our students, our entrepreneurial and motivated staff team and our extensive partnership network.
The College trains circa 850 apprentices, including circa 110 higher level apprenticeships and delivers work place training, traineeships and higher level technical and professional specialisms up to MBA level in our 4 strategic vocational areas; Construction, Design & Management; Engineering including mechatronics & robotics; Digital Creative; Health & Social Care and Leadership and Management across the pan London occupational sectors.
Broadway Theatre in Barking is part of the BDC family. Originally the Barking Assembly Hall, the theatre was designed in the 30s and opened in 1962. The college joined forces with the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham to redevelop and modernise it, and the venue was reopened in 2004.
It provides students with a realistic and hi-tech working environment in which they can collaborate, rehearse and perform. The Broadway is home to Performing Arts, Music and Media Make-up courses.

We have some exciting opportunities available at Broadway Theatre Barking/Barking & Dagenham College.
We are looking for a
Box Office Assistant to provide a high quality front line box office service to customers, to help manage Front of House and Bar operations, and to help manage cleaning operations.
- Sell tickets using a computerised system, dealing with counter, telephone and internet bookings.
- Keep accurate records of all financial transactions on the shift and to secure all cash, cheques and credit card records.
- Answer customer queries regarding shows and events in a friendly, informative and professional manner
- Maintain information and display material at the front of house and in the box office area.
