As a Barclays Quantitative Analyst - Macro Flow, you will be maintaining and upgrading existing models, as well as have the opportunity to manage the development of new models for the Rates and FX Flow aspects of Barclays.

You will focus on developingtools for the Rates Traders and provide support for the trading desk, including their controlling functions in their daily activities and processes.

You will work closely with IT on rolling out models into strategic platforms.

What will you be doing?:


  • Developing models and methodologies for the pricing, valuation and risk for interest rates and FX flow products
  • Providing support for the rates and FX flow trading desks
  • Implementing models and methodologies in Barclays analytics libraries in C++ & Python
  • Providing quantitative analysis and guidance to traders, risk managers, sales people, controllers and other internal clients
  • Providing assistance and guidance to the users of the quantitative models and methodologies
  • Developing guidance to technologists integrating QA models into Barclays systems

What we're looking for:


  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Econometrics or a Quantitative discipline
  • Proven experience in a Quantitative role
  • Strong numerical programming ability using C++ and Python
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience from complex projects

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • High level of written communication skills including results of research and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Previous exposure to Rates, Inflation and/or FX products and models
  • Capable of being detail orientated and conscious of wider project goals
  • Able to work individual and within a team environment
