JOB DESCRIPTION

Caniad Mental Health Coordinator

Salary:
£21,507.75 per annum

Job Purpose:


Caniad is a North Wales substance misuse and mental health service user and carer involvement project hosted by Adferiad Recovery.

The post holder will be responsible for offering support within Substance misuse and/or mental health services across North Wales.

With demonstrable experience of working with disadvantaged groups, you will have a sound understanding of substance misuse services and the benefits and challenges of service user and carer involvement.


To work as part of a team to facilitate involvement opportunities and bring together a range of people who have recent experience of substance misuse and/or mental health services.


The project will identify involvement opportunities, facilitate attendance at meetings, forums, and events, recruit new members, support provision of relevant training and IT support, reimburse expenses and administer the project's time banking scheme.


To work with individuals who use co-occurring mental health and or substance misuse services to facilitate a range of mechanisms to share their views and experiences and contribute towards the planning, design, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the services they receive.


Responsibilities:

- occurring services to facilitate a range of mechanisms to share their views and experiences and contribute towards the planning, design, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the services they receive.

  • The post holder will be responsible for offering support within Substance misuse services across North Wales.
  • To monitor, review and evaluate service users' input into the above, using quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • To assist individuals who use substance misuse services to be part of recruitment processes for service providers.
  • To develop and give presentations to key stakeholders.
  • To develop and deliver training as appropriate and relevant to the service.
  • To maintain up to date records, statistics and proforma as required to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the service and to contribute this information to overall service reports as required.
  • To be responsible for areas of Health & Safety within their remit.
  • To attend meetings as directed including informal and formal review meetings.
  • To carry out all reasonable tasks commensurate with the post as directed.

Person specification:


No specific qualifications are required, although NVQ Competencies in NVQ Level 3 in Care Management/Health & Social Care would provide some evidence of competence for the post.


We ask that applicants have the following experience:

  • Experience of attendance and participation in strategic meetings e.g. multi-disciplinary meetings
  • Experience of working with and developing groups involving and working in partnership with a diverse range of people
  • Experience of working with people with a mental illness or substance misuse issues, including producing appropriate risk assessments
  • Experience of working with people with disadvantaged groups/individuals
  • Experience of working with different sectors
