We are delighted to be representing a rising star in contemporary accountancy on a retained basis in their search for an Audit Manager to join their team and manage the audit department for the firm's portfolio of loyal clients.

This opportunity has arisendue to an internal promotion.


This firm provides audits and additional services to a unique and varied portfolio some of which have turnovers up to c.

£7 million. Sectors covered include renewable energy, agriculture, not for profit schemes, construction, manufacturing, solicitors andmore.)


An integral management role within the practice, this post calls for a natural leader that can nurture a positive working environment, whilst supporting the Partners to ensure the onward fast pace of growth within the firm.


This role encompasses more than just audit and will present an exciting opportunity for a talented accountant to make their mark and progress as part of a thriving team.


Job Purpose

  • Oversee the provision of audits from planning to completion.
  • Mentor the audit team and support with their learning and development to ensure they in turn manage the junior team effectively.
  • Close liaison with other departments within the firm.
  • Fully accountable for the provision of accounting services including corporate tax returns and special services for a portfolio of clients with annual fees in excess of £150,000.
  • Supervise and control completion of audit assignments including controls, system and planning, including attendance at a clients premises when required.
  • Review and completion of audit file for partner review.
  • Review and finalisation of accounts work prepared and conclude on all final points for review.
  • Preparation of projections and forecasting information.
  • Review and finalisation of management information.
  • Consolidations and other complex accounting processes.
  • Ensure company secretarial process is followed and advise clients of their responsibilities.
  • Manage budgets and compliance for clients.
  • Raising bills
  • Oversee workflow and improve processes where possible.
  • Ability to identify services that will add value to your portfolio of clients.
  • Championing the firm's values within the team.
  • Provide professional and personable clientfacing communication skills.
  • Set an example for the team as a natural leader.
  • Work at pace and enjoy being part of a high functioning independent firm.
  • Support the Partners with adhoc tasks as required.

The Successful Applicant will have

  • ACA, ACCA or CA qualified with audit experience within practice
  • Previous senior supervisory or management experience
  • Team spirit
  • Technical ability and attention to detail
  • Confident to inspire, lead and performance manage the audit team
  • A positive attitude
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency
  • Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written
  • A great work ethic and personable character
