An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, adaptable Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join the busy and dynamic Speech and Language Therapy Team based at Southport Hospital.
You will work alongside experienced therapists and support them in the assessment, treatment and on-going rehabilitation of patients.

The role will include supporting the Speech and Language Therapists (SLT) in performing tasks such as: gaining patient histories, preparing assessment materials, administration and documentation, patient mealtime observations, supporting patients to carry out and monitor therapy programmes as set by the SLTs, mouthcare.
The successful post holder will be expected to support the team both clinically and non-clinically across both ward and office environments.
All work will be directed and supported by an HCPC registered therapist, with the aim of ensuring speech and language therapy is delivered, timely and seamless, with excellent communication and MDT working.
The Secretary of State has approved the partnership between St Helens & Knowsley Teaching Hospitals and Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals.
From 1 st July we have come together as a single organisation under the name Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
