Stock Control & Purchasing Manager


Salary:
£30k-£40k

My client are a niche industry and are looking for a Stock Control & Purchasing Manager to join their team.

This is a new role to help manage the procurement, supply chain and stock.

This role is primarily focused on IT and AV systems, including some excitingnew technologies, working as part of our engineering team.

Being responsible for all company stock, this role requires someone with a great eye for detail, and you'll be ensuring best value for all company purchasing.


Purchasing Manager - Job Role:

  • Work with suppliers to ensure best quality, availability and value for money
  • Creating strong relationships with core suppliers
  • Manage the full product lifecycle, working with our inhouse designers, OEMs and suppliers to ensure longterm consistency of supply
  • Establishing and maintaining a highlevel of stock accuracy for the stock room and mobile workforce, including consumables
  • Being responsible for all stock ordering, goods in, prep for jobs, returned goods and stock movements
  • Works with sales colleagues on opportunity management to ensure effective and timely pricing responses
  • Work with engineering manager to ensure work is invoiced timely and accurately
  • Managing and reviewing all purchasing and stock control procedures, taking an approach of continual improvement
  • Provide and analyse stock level reports, tracking monthly and annual spend and stock levels
  • Ensuring all critical stock are available in line with planned and anticipated works
  • Problem solves issues (e.g., delays in delivery, or lack of availability of stock)
  • Manage a part time stock controller.

Purchasing Manager - Person Requirements:

  • Previous stock control & purchasing management experience is essential.
  • Proven history of ensuring best value when purchasing from supply chain
  • Experience working with IT/AV or technical industries.
  • Moderate to strong IT skills, with experience of using stock management software / ERP
  • Salesforce advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills are important.
  • Experience of working to KPI's & objectives
  • Shown ability to exercise good time management and task prioritisation
  • Necessary experience / understanding of Quality Standard ISO 9001:2015
