Clyde
The Electrical Systems Authorised Person is based within our Clyde business area.


As the Ministry of Defence's commercial partner at HMNB Clyde, Babcock provides specialist engineering support services, including the management of infrastructure and nuclear facilities.

We also deliver operational maintenance, upgrades and repairs to support Royal Navy vessels, including the Vanguard and Astute-Class nuclear submarines.


The role

The difference our new Electrical Systems Authorised Person will make
As a Electrical Systems Authorised Person, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Providing the estates department with low voltage safe systems of work, which includes issuing permits to qualify staff to carry out their duties


Day to day, your role will include providing specialist Electrical System Support and to act as an Electrical Systems AP (Low voltage) supporting work undertaken by the Estates Delivery Team at HMNB Clyde.

This roles sits within Estates at at HMNB Clyde. (Faslane and Coulport)

This role provides hybrid working arrangements with 4 days in the office/onsite and 1 day working from home.


Essential experience

  • Experience and knowledge on majority of the following:
  • 18th Edition Regulations


  • Authorised Person

  • Low Voltage (AP2)
  • Authorising safe practice on Standby Systems

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work and lead tasks alone
  • Attention to detail
  • Good team player
  • Good communication skills

Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship in Relevant Electrical Engineering Discipline or Equivalent minimum to SVQ level
  • City and Guilds 18th Edition or equivalent


  • Authorised Person

  • Low Voltage (AP2)
  • You will hold or have the ability to obtain SC clearance
