We are recruiting for a Head of Capital Programme who shares our vision to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.


The Head of the Capital Programme Delivery has a crucial leadership role in the delivery of a high Capital Project Plan and oversight of major strategic projects and programmes affecting the delivery across the Trust.

An expert facilitator and leader, the post holder will identify areas for opportunity, using internal data and benchmarking to ensure we are focusing on the highest priority areas.


You will have professional and managerial responsibility for the management of the Estates Capital Team and the Estates Capital Programme and will contribute to ensuring that the corporate objectives of the Trust are achieved.

The delivery of a comprehensive development control plan, multiple projects in various stages of development, decant and phasing strategy and management responsibility for the capital budget.

To actively work with executive colleagues to design, communicate and implement innovative service and facilities re-design across the organisation.


The post holder is responsible for the management of capital projects from inception to completion ensuring the delivery of projects on time, within budget, to the required quality and which improve the patient's environment, including the project planning to deliver Business Case requirements and deliverables within overall programme timeframes.

Compliance to programme governance and processes to ensure delivery within these parameters.


Whilst the post holder works primarily for the Estates & Facilities Capital Programme, they will work within the Trusts existing Capital team, providing specialist knowledge to ensure that the Director of Estates and Facilities (DoEF) and the Associate Director of Business & Commercial (ADBC) are fully briefed and up to date with programme developments, providing full oversight of the team, proposals and approvals.

The post holder will report directly to the DoEF but will also have a dotted line responsibility to the ADBC to ensure that both parties are fully briefed on their respective areas of work and that correct methodology and solutions are created for the Trust.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery against programme plan.

We provide services from two main hospitals, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital, and a number of clinics across London and the South-East.

We are currently spending £25 million on expanding our adult and neonatal critical care facilities at Chelsea and Westminster and redevelopment of our children's unit at West Middlesex - in partnership with our charity, CW+ and generous donors.


The post holder is the lead specialist responsible for long term planning, preparing and managing the Estates capital project team and Estates Capital Project Programme at various stages from writing, briefing to completion of the Business Case process.

To ensure that they are completed in an efficient and effective manner, within programme timeframes and to provide the highest possible standards of Business Case delivery within the resources allocated, ensuring statutory compliance.
