Description

You will work alongside a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, and other Clinical Psychologists as part of a supportive and caring team of cancer psychologists.

You will provide highly specialist inpatient and outpatient psychological assessments and interventions to teenage and young people with cancer, and psychological advice, supervision, consultancy and training to multi-disciplinary colleagues.

The cancer psychology team sees patients with a solid tumour, and collaborates very closely with colleagues in haematology who provide psychological care for patients with a blood cancer.

The cancer related concerns will include helping individuals prepare for complex treatments and associated decision-making, enhance their ability to cope with cancer related fatigue and appearance change; cancer related traumatic stress, managing fears of recurrence or cancer spread, and living well with treatable but not curable cancer.
