  • Work closely with the Head of Product and Product team to develop and maintain assigned product categories.
  • With the support of Head of Product, plan, identify, develop, design, source, evaluate and advocate new product offerings, and keep a product project log.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales team and Head ofProduct to manage new and existing product sales forecasts / budget data for assigned categories.
  • Gather and communicate supporting intelligence for new product business case development, including competition, end user feedback, etc.
  • Present product recommendations and selections to Head ofProduct and senior leadership team / board of directors as required.
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure products are manufactured on time, on cost and on quality, and are exclusive where possible.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing departments on merchandising activities such as promotional copy, photography, video content, Point of Sale as well as content selection and presentation of marketing materials related to both new and existing productportfolio.
  • Work with Head ofProduct and Operations to review inventory levels, product lifecycles and product sourcing activity.
  • Load new product data on finance and PIM systems and place initial orders for stock.
  • Continually review the current product portfolio, to ensure that all products offered are aligned with customer and market needs.
  • Ensure that new product initiatives are validated internally with design/engineering and externally with users (retailers/tradespeople/consumers).
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to develop packaging and instructional content for new and existing products.
  • Communicate new product information to all relevant stakeholders, including the assembly team.
  • Create inspection forms, risk assessments and BOM for new products.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external agencies (as required) to ensure new and current product safety compliance and approvals/certification meet current legislation.
  • Liaise with Customer Services, Technical Support, Sales and Warehouse Managers for feedback with regards to product issues/updates, and report back findings/improvements to relevant stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Ensure that relevant staff are trained on New Products as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with end users and dealers to assist with new product development.
  • Define new product information for catalogue, website, adverts, briefing notes, product hierarchy etc.
  • Continually Monitor competitive products for assigned categories and share information with relevant departments.
  • Assist Operations and Sales departments in the management of excess and obsolete stock.
  • Attend Product Development Meetings.
  • Attend site visits to suppliers (overseas and UK), end user and distributors.
  • Work with R&D Engineer to test and evaluate New Products ideas/opportunities.
  • Assist Technical Support in responding to enduser technical queries.
  • Carry out all other reasonable tasks as directed by Technical Director or Head of Product.

Key Skills/Experience Required:


  • Some experience in a product role would be highly advantageous.
  • Confidence whilst interacting with staff, suppliers and customers.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise the varied tasks and responsibilities the role has to offer.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Able to work to deadlines.
  • An active team player who positively contributes to team performance and team goals.
  • Conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint computer programmes.

Salary/Benefits Information:

Package of £30,000 - £35,000 + benefits
