Food preparation and service to customers.

  • To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the department.
  • Support and assist catering staff to supply a quality catering service to the customers including the provision of beverages and buffets to meeting rooms as required.
  • Maintenance and filling of vending facilities and beverage and water machines.


We have a position available working in our staff and visitor restaurant at Highbury Hospital providing an essential service within the hospital contributing to the wellbeing of staff and visitors.

This is an opportunity to be a part of this service.

You will undertake a variety of tasks in the restaurant including serving food, stock rotation, filling vending machines, some general cleaning, operating the till and providing hospitality along with other duties commensurate with the role.

We are looking for reliable and hardworking team member to join our busy team. Catering experience and a Food Safety Certificate are desirable but not essential, skills and training will be given. JOB PURPOSE
Food preparation and service to customers.

KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

C.I.E.H. L2 Food Hygiene (or work towards)

C.I.E.H. L2 Health and Safety (or work towards)

Flexibility to manage own time and activities.

Clean and tidy in appearance.

Cheerful friendly disposition.

Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

Good communicator.


KEY RESULT AREAS


All equipment, utensils, working surfaces and areas to be kept clean and tidy, using correct cleaning methods, equipment and chemicals.

Ensure that cleaning standards are maintained as described in the Cleaning Schedules.

Ensure that standards of service are maintained as described and service areas are set up correctly.


Accounting and handling of cash as per procedures laid down in the Trust financial instructions and departments operational procedure document.

All equipment to be operated in accordance with the manufacturers Operating Instructions.

The reporting of defective equipment to your Team Leader.

Any spillage on to the floor must be cleaned up immediately to prevent accidents. Use appropriate warning signs.

Assist in the preparation and loading of food as required.

Ensure correct and economical use of all food, cleaning materials and resources.

Wear protective clothing provided at all times whilst on duty.

To co-operate in training provided and to assist new staff.

Ensure compliance with the Catering Quality and Auditing Manuals and any other policies brought to your attention.
