Housing Options Advisors

Your Location Dependant on which team:

  • Making Decisions Team: WFH with occasional need to visit Kettering office.
New Cases Team: 3 days WFH and 2 days in the Kettering Office


Overview:


Responsibilities:

Decision Making:


  • Make main duty decisions under section 193 or intentionally homeless decisions.
  • Ensure decisions are fair, transparent, and in compliance with relevant legislation and policies.

Client Interactions:


  • Conduct facetoface interviews with clients to gather information and assess housing needs.
  • Provide advice and guidance to individuals seeking housing assistance.
  • Maintain professionalism and empathy while dealing with sensitive situations.

Case Management:


  • Manage and triage new cases efficiently.
  • Complete relevant homelessness inquiries to determine if a duty is owed.
  • Document all interactions and decisions accurately and comprehensively.

Collaboration:


  • Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to provide comprehensive support to clients.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments and stakeholders.

Compliance:


  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience working in housing options or a related field is desirable.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly Part VII of the Housing Act.
  • Excellent decisionmaking skills and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse populations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Standard DBS required for one position, and Enhanced DBS required for another.

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 3 months


Salary:
£24.62-£32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37 per week
