An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of permanent B5 Mental Health Practitioners to work within the brand new 111 urgent mental health care team in Lincolnshire.
This post is a key role within the 24/7 Mental Health First Response service and will be the first point of contact for people who may require urgent mental health support.
Mental Health Practitioners provide effective mental health support to people calling the service who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.
Working via telephone and video calls, Mental Health Practitioners will provide effective emotional support for people through the use of compassionate conversations and, when appropriate, encourage and guide effective self-management of emotional distress.
From April 2024 the NHS 111 press option 2' for Urgent Mental Health will available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for all ages across Lincolnshire.
People can use this number if they have an urgent mental health concern themselves or about someone they know, additionally this will include a professional helpline for those seeking mental health advice.
Callers will be transferred to a mental health practitioner who will conduct a triage of needs and telephone-based intervention to reduce distress.
The Mental Health Access Practitioners will be instrumental in ensuring that the people of Lincolnshire are directed to the most appropriate service to assess their emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties.
As a Mental Health practitioner Call Operator, you will be trained in a specific triage tool, to be utilised alongside your existing skills, to support callers, provide triage and where necessary escalate or signpost to services across Lincs.
