**Job Role

  • TEACHING ASSISTANT
  • SEN
  • DRIVER**
    Location BARNSTAPLE

£70 to £80 PER DAY (dependant on experience)

Hours - TBC- Term time plus non-pupil days (39 weeks per year)
**Working pattern

  • 8.30am to 3.30pm From Monday to Friday**
    Start date ASAP
Do you have the patience, empathy, enthusiasm, passion and caring nature to work with children? Are you fed up with pupils being labelled as naughty when actually they just struggle to access the education system? Do you think that person could be you?

We are looking for Teaching assistants to assist pupils in and out of the classroom, on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.


You need to be available from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm and reliable.

Typical duties include:


  • Helping pupils with their learning, often with a particular focus on maths, reading and writing
  • Working with dyslexics by building various forms of differentiation to encourage your pupil's confidence and independence.
  • Supervising group activities
  • Setting up equipment for lessons and keeping classrooms safe and tidy
  • Helping develop programmes of learning activities and adapting appropriate materials
  • Motivating an encouraging pupils'
  • Monitoring and recording children's behaviour and progress
  • Helping with school trips and activities.
  • You will then provide feedback and assistance to the teacher.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Patient and friendly, but with the ability to be firm.
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Excellent understanding of child development and learning
  • Transferrable skills
