An immediate opportunity has arisen for an experienced Stores Operative to join a busy manufacturing warehouse environment.

Woking alongside the Senior Storesperson, you will be responsible for maintaining an effective warehouse environment and ensuring all stock is correctly accounted for and looked after.

Forklift license/experience is ESSENTIAL for this position as is a backgroundin a manufacturing / engineering sectors.

The responsibilities of a Stores Operative:

  • Storing incoming material used for manufacturing
  • Kitting up and issuing materials to the production teams within production schedules
  • Assisting with stock audits through periodic cycle counts
  • Maintaining security, control and movement of stock / materials
  • Performing the annual stock take
  • Implementing and adhering to FIFO (First in, First Out) procedures when working with consumables, adhesives and mouldings
  • Assisting with quality control processes within goodsin
  • Operating a forklift for movement of stock
  • Prioritising health and safety standards

The profile of a successful Stores Operative:

  • Previous experience working in a stores/warehouse environment in a busy manufacturing business
  • Forklift licence
  • You must be strong and effective communicator across multiple departments
  • Good Mathematics and English ability
  • Experienced within a stockroom handling goods in and dispatch procedures
  • You must be able to lift a reasonable amount of weight as defined by the health and safety manager
  • You must take responsibility for your work with integrity and selfconfidence
