TechInsights the leading connected and portable device research company has an exciting opportunity in our Mobile Team.

To support the rapid growth in our
smartphones research, we require an Associate Director who can contribute to the company's expansion with strong qualitative and quantitative insights delivered to our global clients.

We have successfully integrated two acquisitions in the last 12 months, with the ambition to double our business through acquisition and organic growth over the next 12 to 24 months.

TechInsights is headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, with operations in USA, Poland, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, China, and England.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Planning, road mapping, research, forecasting, analysis, blogging, and writing reports on key market issues in the transformation of the smartphone market
  • Tracking new products, pricing and market offers by form factor, price, features
  • Writing timely quarterly reports on market developments (vendor share, operating systems, revenue, pricing, tiers, etc.)
  • Analysing vendor KPIs on a quarterly basis
  • Updating and expanding forecasts on the impact of new models on the phone industry
  • Analysing distribution channel trends and subsidies for smartphones
  • Winning new logos for our subscription business and winning new renewable projects in the European arena alongside our business development professionals.
  • Responding to client inquiries, blogger, and media requests

KEY REQUIREMENTS:


  • 7+ years' experience of market, vendor and/or financial analysis
  • A smartphone or PC tracking background at an OEM or distributor, or components vendor preferred
  • An undergraduate degree in a business, economics, technology, engineering, or mathematics related discipline.
  • A track record of innovation, developing new reporting or analysis products to support management decisions.
  • Excellent written, numerical and verbal communication skills;
  • Good mathematical skills and a love of numbers;
  • Strong analytical approach;
  • Enthusiasm and initiative to work independently, at high speed, within the team;
  • The ability to work accurately and confidently with rapid turnaround times;
  • Ability to develop relationships with key global industry players;
  • MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint proficiency. Database skills would be a pluspoint.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English. Additional language skills preferred.
