Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday

Pay:
£70 - £80 per day

Leader Education is currently recruiting for several 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants for a specialist SEN school in Leeds.

The school is a specialist school for children who have been identified as having additional Special Educational Needs (SEN). Additional needs may include Autism, ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia and other complex needs. Students are of mixed gender and can be aged from- 19.

Previous experience working with students identified as having additional SEN needs or with complex needs/care is desirable.

The job:

Providing support to students with SEN additional needs in an educational setting
Working in close partnership with SENCO and the designated safeguarding lead to promote positive outcomes and academic progression
Forming strong relationships with children and young people, and their families, which encourage all students to achieve the very best that they can
Helping students in achieving the objectives set out in their Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP), by adopting a nurturing approach
Ensuring the best quality of education and support for each student.

You:

Have previous experience in working with children with SEN needs
Will be patient, nurturing, resilient and empathetic to students' individual needs
Have the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with the child/children that you work with
Have a passion for teaching and learning with the ability to make learning enjoyable and fun for all students
Are a motivated and enthusiastic person with great communication skills
Will ideally be Team Teach trained but not essential free training is available
Able to work effectively as part of a team but can also work independently using their own initiative.
