iSupply Group are recruiting for a Transport Co-ordinator for our busy client in Bolton BL2 2HP


Responsibilities

:


The Transport Co-Ordinator is responsible for coordinating all collections with delivery partners for outbound customer shipments at the Bolton warehouse. They will be required to plan with various carriers according to daily collections schedules the smooth flow of vehicles and efficient loading throughout the day limiting the number of vehicles in the yard at one time and co-ordination with the warehouse to ensure orders are ready to fill vehicles at the required times and the correct freight is loaded. They will be the main point of contact for collecting and delivering drivers on site. In addition, the Transport Co-Ordinator will be required to complete various administrative tasks to support the Warehouse and Logistics teams.

Core Duties

:

-
Checking daily delivery collection schedules provided by logistics partners and planning and authorising vehicle arrival times ensuring there is enough room in the yard, and it is safe for drivers to enter.

:

Communicating with the warehouse to ensure the relevant freight and required volumes is ready for loading to coincide with collection times.

:

-
Liaising with delivery drivers to ensure that any collection that is not authorised or does not arrive at the allocated time is instructed to wait off site.

:

-
Observing vehicles being loaded to ensure they are loaded with the correct freight.

:

-
Obtaining a signature/confirmation from drivers to ensure that goods collected are correct in good condition i.e. visibly damage free.

:

-
Communicating with the traffic departments of logistics partners to alert them to any delay with loading and making decisions on what to load in time critical situations.

:

-
Contacting traffic/account managers to chase late collections and sourcing alternative transport in the event of a failed collection.

:

-
Dealing with any repercussions of failed collections such as contacting logistics and sales to advise and identifying and booking transport for shipments that could be sent on same day vehicles to minimise impact to customers.

:

Tracking volumes of freight throughout the day and arranging extra collection trailers if possible to pick up any overflow.

:

-
Cancelling and amending the quantity/size of pallets of consignments on various carrier portals and issuing the warehouse with new labels where applicable.

:

Creating consignments and booking deliveries for orders that have come through later in the day due for dispatch the next day and distribute to the warehouse.

Creating trucks out for any delivery bookings made and assigning all shipments to a truck out.

:

-
Checking all trucks out for that day have been completed by the warehouse.

Arrange transport for any internal stock transfers to satellite warehouses from Bolton.

Monitor and record the loading capacity of parcel carrier collections.

Shipping orders off the system

Experience/skillsets required.

:

-
Hands on experience of co-ordinating a transport yard with a high level of LGV FLT activity.

:

-
'Banksman' trained is desirable.

:

-
IOSH Managing Safely or similar desirable.

:

-
Excellent organisational and planning skills.

:

-
Time management ability.

:

-
Verbal and written communication skills to a high standard.

Proficient in the use of IT and all commonly used software.

A positive attitude and personality.
