Spinwell is recruiting for an Associate Director of Digital Innovations for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.


RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL INNOVATIONS

  • To deliver a digital strategy that allows staff to deliver digital capability of supporting people to stay independent, out of hospital and better able to coproduce their care. Yet our current rate and pace of change is highlighting our need to more rapidly deliver a secure robust, connected, accessible and resilient informatics and technology capability.
  • This is a key senior role in IM&T, accountable for leading the planning and developing the strategic and operational plans for IM&T investment and oversee the digital transformation. The post holder will be required to deputise for the Chief Digital Information Officer; and support business critical service management and delivery, contractual, partnership and other meetings and forums internally and externally.
  • The AD of Digital Innovations will have overall responsibility in the delivery and coordination of the IM&T Projects, develop Investments and deliver digital innovations. The post holder will direct the strategy and make decisions within delegated authority. The purpose of the role is to provide strategic leadership for the project team and agree common vision; values and objectives whilst being accountability for aspects of project planning and delivery and to be an expert in the field.
  • The AD of Digital Innovations is ultimately accountable for delivery and coordination of the capital development in relation to the business case in terms of specific performance, time, cost and quality in relation to IM&T strategy and Digital Innovations.
  • The AD of Digital Innovations needs to be able to combine realism with openness and the clarity of expression to communicate the Strategies vision effectively. This will involve highly complex situations where there will be significant barriers to understanding. The post will support and communicate the vision IM&T digital innovations and be its 'champion', providing clear leadership and direction through the life of the programme.
  • Responsible for the production and maintenance of key programme information, including the Programme coordination, publication of individual project briefs and the preparation of business cases as required for signoff by client. Ensure preparation of regular reporting against key performance indicators as required to meet the information requirements of executive directors, management executive and Board of Directors.
  • Providing overall direction and leadership for the delivery and implementation of the strategy with personal accountability for its outcome, including taking a lead role in property disposal, acquisitions and negotiations with external investors.
  • As a Senior Manager, the post holder will work in a matrix way with other Programme Managers, Programme Heads and Programme Directors to oversee the delivery of a number of key priority programmes within client portfolio.
  • Manage the whole lifecycle of programmes of work containing multiple projects, reporting on progress and managing risks and issues, acting as a point of escalation for project managers within the team. Be a champion for best practice, learning from experience and from others, supporting the spread of innovation within the organisation and beyond. Build productive relationships across the programme team and have access to and credibility with key stakeholders.
  • Manage the whole lifecycle through to effective closure of a number of programmes relating to system change, ensuring excellent governance throughout. Support and deliver organisational change and the uptake of initiatives that support excellence.
  • Lead on change programmes and facilitate the uptake of initiatives that support and embed excellence within the health system.
  • The post holder will lead the provision of an efficient, effective and high quality professional and wellcoordinated programme management service capable of meeting statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL INNOVATIONS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; communicates effectively at all levels with a variety of internal and external individuals including clinicians
  • Excellent presentation and speaking skills for delivering key messages to a range of stakeholders both internal and external (including outside the NHS) to the organisation, some at very senior level
