Activity Engagement Worker - Hospitality


Salary:
£13, £22,986.00 FTE) + benefits


Hours of Work:21hours per week - usually Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

(This may also include unsociable hours including working evenings and weekends.)

We are The Walled Garden and Wisecraft at PKAVS.

It's our mission to enable adults and young people to engage in activities that improve their mental health and wellbeing.


We provide a community-based service that aims to create an environment of wellbeing, offering a range of meaningful activities to support clients in achieving their individual goals through a recovery and outcomes-based model.

Activities include gardening, creative arts, hospitality experience, woodwork, and physical/nutritional activity.


PKAVS has been supporting people and communities in Perth & Kinross for over 50 years; but there's never been a more exciting time to join us.


The role


Reporting to the Service Managers, the Activity Engagement Worker (Hospitality) will promote holistic wellbeing and recovery while facilitating hospitality and catering workshops and practical learning activities that will enable clients to understand and experience all aspects of hospitality operations and customer service roles within our café at the Walled Garden.


Clients will also have the opportunity to put their learning into practice by providing a full dinner or lunch service (in the form of an 'event') to members of the public at least once per month.


This role has a balanced focus of client engagement, customer service and income generation that sustains the continuity of the café.

You'll be working in line with our ethos of client development and empowering people to move towards positive destinations within the fields of hospitality, catering, food, and nutrition.

If you have the following skills, knowledge, qualities, and experience, you are guaranteed to succeed in, and thoroughly enjoy this varied role:

  • The ability to create and facilitate engaging and interesting practical learning on all aspects of hospitality and customer service.
  • A good understanding of health and wellbeing and the ability to translate a holistic focus on recovery and wellbeing into the practical, fun, and enjoyable learning you provide to clients.
  • Experience in coordinating and managing safe hospitality operations and processes.
  • You are a great motivator and enjoy leading a team to achieve both personal and team goals.
  • You are super organised; you work at pace and are excellent at taking action and making great things happen.
